Product Description
After staying with the Pattons only a couple of days, Mandie and her friends and family realize jewelry is mysteriously disappearing overnight. So far Mandie is missing a cherished locket; Celia, a silver bracelet; and Mandie?s grandmother, some of her own jewelry. If Mandie and her friends investigate the strange noises in the night, will they find the thief? Or is the house haunted like some say it is? When Joe leaves early to go back to college, a sad Mandie is more determined than ever to solve the mystery of the missing jewelry.

4 out of 5 stars It was ok   January 24, 2005

In Mandie and the Night thief the mystery is ok and I enjoyed the book, but it seems to me that Mandie is starting to turn into a lady. I wish she wouldn't. Those of you who have read earlier Mandie books may remember that Mandie was determined not to turn into a lady. Comeon the mysteries won't be any fun if Mandie always acts like a lady. I was so mad at Celia and Tommy when they wouldn't let Mandie climb over the wall that I wanted to punch them. I hope that Mrs. Leppard isn't planning on making Mandie into a "lady" like her mother is. I mean her mother has absolutely no guts. Oh yay this book is good and I'm sure you would like it . I just wish that with all those boys together there would have been a bit more friction. You HAVE to read it!!!

The plot of this book was good, but I was very dissopointed with the ending. It didn't give a very good explanation about the theif and there was also a mystery that was never explained. I'm sure the next one will be better!

1 out of 5 stars Bored all-the-way through!   September 29, 2003

This was NOT one of her better books. I was disappointed about the whole plot, but I was happy to see that Mandie has grown up somewhat. I wish she would stop doing things that are wrong and listen to her friends advice. I was bored with this book and had really hoped for a mystery, but I never found one. Hope the next one is better.
