| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Originally published in 1985 by LuraMedia (which became Innisfree Press), the first edition sold nearly 30,000 copies. In this revised edition the stories have been thoroughly updated for a more contemporary approach. Now there is a new generation of women who are trying to braid their life "streams" of career development, sexuality, and spiritually. This book is for them as well as those who loved the first edition. Weaving together the rich symbolism of the Esther story, stories of contemporary women, and her own story, Marjory Bankson presents a pattern of women's development and a paradigm of wholeness. In eleven chapters, each with journaling questions for personal reflection and guidelines for group discussion, she invites women to tell their stories, honor their experiences, claim their bodies, and celebrate a woman's way of growing and creating.

A Woman's Way of Growing February 1, 2000 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
In this study of the book of Esther, the author takes a personal approach, encouraging the reader to reflect on his/her own life. At the end of each chapter are questions for individuals or small groups to use. The braided streams are the major influences in a woman's life, which are intertwined, but which ebb and flow, sometimes with one becoming a raging torrent, and another a dried up stream bed. This book will encourage you to reflect back on your own life, seeing where you have been, and encouraging you to nurture all your braided streams.
