Product Description The occult is a very real influence for today's youth--and the world is only too eager to exploit their curiosity about the supernatural. Tyndale and Bill Myers, cocreator of McGee and Me!, counteract the deceptions presented by immensely popular titles with an innovative approach to juvenile fiction--the Forbidden Doors series. Insightful and straightforward, each volume tackles spiritual warfare by presenting biblical truths through realistic situations and characters. #4 The Haunting--Scott and Rebecca's greatest enemy, the Ascension Lady, has come to Becka for help! She wants to hold a seance to free the spirit of a little girl that has been haunting an old mansion in town. Then a series of eerie experiences lead Becka and Scott to wonder if what is haunting the old mansion in town is a ghost--or demons. Soon they are caught up in their most dangerous encounter yet--and it will take a miracle to bring them through safely.

Truly One of the Best Christian Series December 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This little book is truly amazing. It is enlightening. Even though it is physically small, it packs a powerful punch.
This book is the 4th book of the series. It is about two Christian children, Becka and Scott, and their mother. They just moved to California from South America, after the dad's plane went down. (He was a pilot who flew missionaries into South America.) I actually looked forward to visiting this lovely, cozy family each night before going to bed. Scott is one fine Christian lad, and Becka is awesome, too. Their mom should be proud of them. Another character I really love is Susan, and also her husband Todd - they are youth leaders - they are a good example of Christian encouragement and inspiration.
This particular book is about a "haunted" mansion - is it really haunted or just an illusion?
This book reminds us of the importance, necessity, and power of forgiveness, prayer, and love. Scott's and Becka's faith is amazing.
The book stresses the need for all parts of God's armor in order to fight the battle: truth, faith, righteousness, prayer, scripture, forgiveness, and love. Even though Becka and Scott are fighting "physical" ghouls, I think they are representative of the "mental" ghouls we all (both teens and adults) really do have to fight in real life: "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil." Ephesians 6:12.
There is a victory at the end of the book that makes the angels party.
The Haunting June 5, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I LOVED this book!!! It does get pretty scary near the end but knowing that with God we can triumph over any demons helps. And the situations The Williams' find themselves in with demons are exxagerating to crate suspense and drama. I recommend all the Forbidden Doors books! The Haunting and The Gaurdian were my favorites.
A great book!!!! May 21, 2002 It an extremely good book. Though i wouldn't let someone who get scared easy read it. It gets kinda scary at the end. It has to be on of the best in the series
Reveals the TRUTH about ghosts, very exciting & interesting February 20, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This exciting book is about a group of teenage friends who explore a Haunted Mansion, and uncover the truth behind the ghost. They still find the ghost to be a spirit, but not exactly as they expected. By faith and determination, they must overcome the deception and evil that truly lurks in the house. Trully a non-stop page turner!
