The Path of Loneliness November 8, 2007 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Elisabeth Elliot will always be one of the most important Christian writers of all time. Everyone should read The Path of Loneliness. It sheds light on so much in our lives and how much deeper God would use our circumstances to transform us into His Son. How do we offer up the sacrifice of our trials & heartaches? What does Paul mean to fill up the afflictions of Christ? Our obedience to the things from God that we would rather not do or go through has such spiritual value to be obeyed; not just for me, but for the body of Christ as a whole.
Relevant for EVERYONE December 5, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Don't be shyed away by the inclusion of the word "Loneliness" in the title of this book. The treasures in it are relevant to every human, because anyone who has ever lived has experienced some type of pain and has experienced the state of being alone, if even temporarily. Anyone with a mind and a heart that feels will find this profound writing to be very intelligently written. You don't even need to be a Christian to appreciate the commonality of the human condition as expressed in this book. ***Simply stated, it is poetic, thoughtful, biting with truth, real, compassionate.***
