A Surprise! The Christmas Story at Barnes & Noble January 2, 2009 Imagine my surprise when our Barnes and Noble had this one! A Christmas story where Santa says that Christmas is not about Santa, it's about Jesus. I bought it just to encourage B&N to carry more stuff like this, eh?
I liked the illustrations very very well. The Christmas story as told is not true to the Gospel accounts ( IN Santa's favorite story, the shepherds follow a star to the stable ...ok. In real life, an angel told the shepherds where to find the Christ child. It was wise men from the east who followed the star. You could look it up!)
And it wraps up with the message that Love was the gift God gave us on the first Christmas, and it still is. And that's a far better present than anything Santa delivers.
Cute Story, Great Art, but Just WRONG!! November 12, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The art is excellent, and the story is cute -- but wrong!
These authors tell the story that shepherds saw a star that led them to the manger of the newborn Christ.
The shepherds were the first to visit the child, but they were told of the birth by an ANGEL.
It was the wise men, who came later, who were led by the star.
And that's the Gospel truth. You can look it up in the books of Matthew and Luke.
The Real Meaning of Christmas is Explained by Santa. October 25, 2008 When I was a first grade teacher (at Carden Memorial School in Salt Lake City) this was a favorite Christmas story. Our director turned the story into a drama to be performed by Kindergarten and first grade students. What a wonderful time they had making Santa and the animals come alive and demonstrate what Christmas really means.
Great Christmas Eve Book January 13, 2008 I love this book. Tells Santa's favorite story of Christmas which is about the birth of Christ. Santa is sad and tired because everyone has forgotten what the true meaning of Christmas is. I got it in hardback so it would last.

A wonderful children's story to bring the true meaning of Christmas to a child from Santa's perspective
