Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
"God spoke to me." "The Spirit spoke to my heart." "God revealed the idea to me." Being close to God means communicating with him--telling him what is on our hearts in prayer and hearing and understanding what he is saying to us. It is this second half of our conversation with God that is so important but that can also be so difficult. How do we hear his voice? How can we be sure that what we think we hear is not our own subconscious? What role does the Bible play? What if what God says to us is not clear? The key, says best-selling author Dallas Willard, is to focus not so much on individual actions and decisions as on building our personal relationship with our Creator. In this updated classic, originally published as In Search of Guidance, the author provides rich spiritual insight into how we can hear God's voice clearly and develop an intimate partnership with him in the work of his kingdom. Features & Benefits

* provides insight into God's direction in daily life

5 out of 5 stars Willard and Hearing God   November 3, 2008
This is the most thoughtful and thorough treatment available of the idea of how God communicates with and guides humans. Willard writes from a distinctly Christian, and Bible-based perspective.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   September 24, 2008
I'm using this book in my Men's Group. It's superb - excellent teaching and solidly Biblically based. Our discussion has been deep. The guys are really enjoying the book, and are learning how to "Develop a Conversational Relationship with God".

5 out of 5 stars God Wants to Express His Character Through Us   June 13, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Dallas Willard writes, "If our gospel does not free the individual up for a unique life of spiritual adventure in living with God daily, we simply have not entered fully into the good news that Jesus brought." And "When Christ's abiding presence becomes our guide, then guidance becomes an almost unconscious response to the gentle moving of His Holy Spirit within us." Developing a unique and genuine relationship with God is the premise of Hearing God. It moves us past the rituals and into personal communion with the Christ that desires to express Himself through each of us, moment by moment. Highly recommended.Christian Meditation and Relaxation Four Cd Set

I found this book to be very helpful. I struggle to hear the Lord and after I was loaned a copy of this book from a friend, I opted to buy one for myself.

I definatly urge anyone to purchase it if they are having the same problems.
