5 out of 5 stars Excellent book   December 29, 2008
This book Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine by Wayne Grudem is written in a simple uncomplicated way for everyone to understand. He also compares other Systematic Theologies to his own so one can put each side by side and learn from both.
I see from reading the reviews on this site some people have recommend my book, "The Enlightenment, What God Told Me After One Million Prayers: A Message for Everyone," and again I just want them to know how much I appreciate their recommendation, especially at such a excellent site. I wrote this book out of love and for the glory of God and Jesus, not for my own fame or fortune. I welcome people to read my book, I'm sure you'll find this non-fiction account of a loving God just as positive and inspiring

5 out of 5 stars What did you expect?   December 24, 2008

I'm curious why reviewers thought that Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology would not be a "fundamentalist conservative" volume. If by "fundamentalist" you mean gospel centered, then yes, this book is full of fundamentalist principles. If by "conservative" you mean that which is based upon Biblical Theology, then yes, you will get that here. I hope, though, that this is not the excuse for not reading this volume of work. In any case, I suppose I will actually post my review now.

Systematic Theology is a very helpful source. The chapters are written in such a way that they can be read independently. The organization of the text is phenomenal and Grudem's approach is indeed conservative. Offering opposing views that are prevalent in Christian circles, Grudem postulates Scripture to guard his interpretation of Scripture. Discussion questions, definitions of key terms covered, Scripture verses for memorization that pertain to the covered material, as well as worship music is all included at the conclusion of each section. The writing style is plain to understand and the book underlines the seemingly growing need for systematic theology. I would suggest this book to any Christian who is seeking for an aid to dig deep into God's word.

5 out of 5 stars Very Readable   October 5, 2008
This book has been very encouraging in studying theology. It covers many topics, can be understood by the average person. In fact it was written with that purpose in mind. It does hold views, but also points out other views. Seems fairly objective. He's not derogatory or opinionated in style or fashion. I highly recommend this book even if doctrinally I don't always agree.

4 out of 5 stars Read with discernment   October 2, 2008
very good and very thorough but as with all things, remember, this is not the gospel and we must search the scriptures for ourselves and with the leading of the holy spirit and prayer, arrive at our own conclusions.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding and Unsurpassed   August 26, 2008

The title of my Review says it all, and since there are already over 130 Reviews, I will make this short. This is simply the best comprehensive modern systematic theology in one volume on the market I have seen in 40 years of ministry. Why? It covers charismatic, evangelical, historical, liturgical and every other angle theologically, is reader friendly, loaded with footnotes and references from every Christian persuasion, and yet not avoiding thorny and difficult topics usually only tackled by very independent writers. No wonder it has sold over a quarter of a million copies in such a short time.
