White Christmas Pie December 13, 2008 It was a good book. I made a copy of the White Christmas Pie recipe and may make it someday.
A Christmas Amish Story December 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Up to this point, my only experience with the stories from Wanda Brunstetter has been the Sisters of Holmes County series. To be honest I must admit that I was not a fan of that series. Overall, I have heard wonderful things about the Amish fiction from Wanda Brunstetter. Starting this book, I came in with mixed feeling and expectations from the things that I have heard and felt myself. In the end, I was pleasantly pleased.
"White Christmas Pie" is a good holiday or anytime of the year read. It is a story of hurt and misconceptions. Feelings that are harbored in one's heart will affect other pieces of their life and this is a story of about finding answers and peace. There are going to be various things in our lies that will prompt questions that will receive no answer.
As Christians, it is an important part of life to forgive and forget when necessary no matter how difficult and even without all the facts. God has a plan for our lives and he knows best. Each day, live to the fullest for him and do not remain caught up in pain.
New awesome author! December 5, 2008 For myself anyway. I loved this book to pieces.
Will wakes up the morning after Christmas, and discovers his dad has left him with an Amish couple, whom were friends of his mother. 22 years later, Will is grown and is getting married. However, it isn't right in his soul. He still has angery feelings with his father for leaving him and not even a letter or anything. Regina and Mark said his dad said he left a note, but they never found one.
Frank, Will's father was in a car accident and by the time he could get back to Will, they had moved. Frank remarried and had 2 girls. However, he has no peace in his soul either. Frank's wife Megan decides to take out an ad, asking if anyone knows them, and will call. Regina sees the ad and takes it upon herself to call.
Find out if Will will forgive his father.
What a beautiful story. Very heart warming and inspiring. I found myself a new favorite author!!!
Amish Christmas Story November 25, 2008 When Will Henderson was six years old his father seemingly abandoned him to the care of Mark and Regina an Amish couple. His father did not return so the couple raised Will as their own. Will grows up Amish and becomes a member of the Amish faith and is engaged to Karen Yoder. But Will holds onto a lot of bitterness and anger toward his father for leaving him. There was supposed to be a note but Regina and Will never found it. Will knows he needs to be at peace with his past and father in order to move on in life. He does not know that his father is equally upset and depressed by the situation and had looked for him in the past. Frank Henderson, Will's father, begins to look for his son again. This is a wonderful heartwarming story set during Christmas. I enjoyed the development of the characters and story. Recommended.
