Product Description Modern Magick is the most popular, most complete, step-by-step instruction manual on how to do real magick that has ever been published. Already over 100,000 people are using it. Author Donald Michael Kraig wrote this after teaching the information in classes for ten years. It is refined, tested, and easy to understand. It is filled with exercises, techniques, and rituals to help you. It is presented in a series of eleven lessons. Follow the lessons, practice the rituals and techniques, and by the end of your work you will be a magician. What does it cover? Rituals, healing, initiation, talismans, astral travel, creative visualization, psychic self-defense, evocation of spirits, the Kabalah, physical exercise, and magical tools such as wands. Want more? You'll also learn the secrets of true meditation, how to use the Tarot, how to remember your dreams, how to do the rituals of Western Magick, including rituals of the Pentagram, Hexagram, Middle Pillar, Rose Cross, and Watchtower. You'll learn how to manipulate magical energy, secrets of relaxation, Wicca, pathworking, Tantra, and sex magick. Once you have finished working your way through this book you will be an accomplished magician. You will be able to perform real magick. Then this book will become the most valuable reference tool in your collection of books. What if you want to know even more about a subject? No problem. Each chapter has a bibliography so you can go even deeper into any topic. There is an annotated bibliography at the end with even more resources. In the new, second edition the contents pages contain more information so it is even easier to find what you need, but there is also an entirely new appendix with answers to many of the most frequently asked questions that Kraig has received over the years. This book is a must!

One of my top three books January 1, 2009 This is one of the most important books on magick and the Qabalah that you can get, along with Dion Fortune's Mystical Qabalah and Eric Orion's Quantum Qabala. The former gives you a deeper understanding of the Qabalah to make better use of this book and the latter takes the traditional practice of Qabalah into the 21st century. Modern Magick will take a complete beginner and make her or him into an adeptus minor, a practicing, marvel-working magician. The first rituals that you learn are meant to cleanse your soul/body of negative, and possibly harmful energies so that you can practice more advanced magick. You do not want to skip these steps if you don't want things to get bad for you. After that, you learn to consecrate your magickal weapons, to make talismans, to summon spirits, to practice sex magick and to travel the astral plane, the greatest secret in magickal practice. The author's style is down-to-earth and very easy to understand. The second edition even has a Q&A concerning questions asked about the first edition. The illustrations are very helpful and the charts of correspondences are clear and easy to understand even without the author's in depth descriptions of each correspondance. If you are a beginner to intermediate magician, then this book is a must have. Quit reading this and buy it already. Every moment you go without it is a moment lost in your magickal path. I know you are doing well. Namaste'
Well done December 11, 2008 Well written book. I recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about ceremonial magick. This book has little of everything you look for in a book like this, it starts off with the basics for the people new to magick but does not linger there too long like other books it also has some advanced stuff thrown in. It then goes in to a step by step how to unlike some books who's author's have the usual create your own spells and call it magic. This book is kind of like a here is Ceremonial magick and everything you need to know about and how to perform it. Kind of like getting a book on Karate that teaches you everything from white belt to black belt.
Heavy Hitter!! October 23, 2008 I've studied every Occult Source book I could find since age 16 and after years of meditation and practice, have my own "Top Ten" Serious Occult Books List. This Title is on that list, as it is designed for the Serious Student who is ready to do some serious Spiritual Work! The writing is very clear and intelligent as well as enjoyable. Years of Exercises are part of the material in this very well written 'grimoire' of Practical Magic(k)! --Blessings!
The best introduction I know April 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just thought I'd mention how much I got out of this book and how valuable I feel it can be for the practicing magician. After searching the bookshelves for well over a year and struggling to find techniques and theory about magick I was finally fortunate enough to come across this book. It totally goes against the grain of most occult literature. It saved me years of research as the book covers loads of very powerful techniques, explaining formulas and practices in clearly defined lessons. I wondered what the catch was when I bought it. By that time I was already used to being given the hype (and lots of of bullshit) without any substance. I found it better than any of the Golden Dawn books at teaching about the Golden Dawn! Not to mention how neatly it explains the Qabalah. It also gives methods and explanations on western paganism, tantra, and some of the more advanced aspects of occultism. There is so much dross that gets passed off as occult literature with weird Christian undertones (urrgh)......when you find something like this you wonder why certain publishers can't do a better job of producing quality books - surely it's not that hard?
A must-have for anyone beginnig the Magicakal Path April 20, 2008 This book fills in the gaps of what other books, manuals and orders leave out. Excellent source of understanding exactly what "Magick" is, what its used for an how-to do it. An excellent first start foundation upon which to build your knowledge base.
