Product Description
How powerful is integrity? Just ask minister-turned-statesman, Mike Huckabee. As lieutenant governor of Arkansas in 1996, he was publicly cast between the ultimate rock and hard place when his boss, governor Jim Guy Tucker, refused to resign despite his felony convictions in the Whitewater scandal. Holding fast to the tenets of honor and faith, and his concern over what was best for the state?s people, Huckabee led the impeachment charge against his superior before a televised audience. That same day, Tucker resigned, and Huckabee would serve as governor of Arkansas until 2007, winning many national honors along the way. Character Makes a Difference is Mike Huckabee?s biographical account of how he handled that potentially major constitutional crisis and why he believes character is the key issue in everyone?s life, ?in the work you do, the candidates you vote for, the people who look to you for leadership.?

5 out of 5 stars Uplifting and Real   December 25, 2008
It amazes me to think that last year I knew little to nothing about the former Governor of Arkansas. Then out of nowhere he steps onto the political scene to endear us with his thoughts. His stories are full of cheer and heartwarming considerations applicable to all of us. My first thoughts about buying his book was that he would be another political hack similar to others we have grown to know and yes even elect. These words are from a man who has far more depth than I would have thought. You might describe him in several different ways but one word that stands out above all the others is Character. He has it in abundance. I'll permit your reading his words first and see if you feel the same.

1 out of 5 stars Slow moving and predictable book   December 2, 2008

As much as I "adore" Mike this is a slow moving book with predictable story lines. Unless you live in Arkansas, there is not much of interest in these stories.

4 out of 5 stars Character   November 18, 2008

While I don't agree with Mike Huckabee politically 100% of the time, you can't argue with his main premise in his book which is that we need leadership with "Character".

Mike is a down-to-earth kind of guy with a country, home-spun, self-depriciating humor that will move even the coldest hearts.

Mike writes like he talks (in fact, sometimes better) so if you have seen his TV show, you will get an idea of how the book will flow.

5 out of 5 stars Mike Huckabee is Humble, Likeable, and a Great Leader!   November 10, 2008

Mike Huckabee will be one of the greatest leaders in American history. He treats everyone respectfully, even if they disagree with him. He is one of the most likeable, personable, friendly, humble people to run for President since Ronald Reagan.

Mike Huckabee's new show HUCKABEE on Foxnews at 8pm ET on Sat. & Sun. is so well liked that thousands across the country can hardly wait each week to tune in. Whether you agree with Huckabee's philosophy or not, you know that you have made a good friend when you meet him and his wonderful family.
