Dava Control picks rock! December 9, 2008 I found my first Dava control pick about a decade ago. Prior to that, I had used a wide variety of picks, from big, triangle, floppy fender picks to dunlop nylons, to pingpong balls cut into pieces and filed smooth. Since finding that first pick at the Cambridge Music Center, I have used Dava Control picks exclusively. They are ridged for easy gripping. They are made of heavy plastic at the ends, with a thinner section in the middle. If you hold them close to the wide end, the thinner plastic makes them respond like a light pick - great for rhythm strumming. Hold them farther down and they become firmer, more like a heavy pick and are great for in-picking, melody work and heavy percussive playing. Although I have lost many Dava control picks, I have never broken one during a performance. They are incredibly durable and pleasure to work with. This multipack includes several different versions of Dava pick, including one with a metal tip which adds an interesting tonal quality - but my favorite is still the original turquoise pick.
My favored picks in all situations April 17, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This add is for one pack of 4 picks, which are each different from one another. Each pick has its pros and cons, which can only be discerned through a trial of each. However, the DAVA technology is my favored type in all situations. The combination of a flexible center and a rigid playing surface is wonderful. In addition, the pick surface is textured to enable a better grip with wet or dry fingers. DAVA is the only brand of picks I use and each type suits my every need. I whole heartedly recommend them to anyone.
