Product Description

Right now, Truth is under attack, and much is at stake. Christians are caught in the crossfire of alternative Christian histories, emerging faulty texts, and a cultural push to eliminate absolute Truth altogether. As a result, many churches and Christians have been deceived. Worse still, they propagate the deception that poses itself as Truth! In The Truth War Study Guide John MacArthur reclaims the unwavering certainty of God's Truth and anchors Christians in the eternal, immovable promises that are found in His Word.

For those struggling with contemporary society's apparent willingness to redefine "truth", The Truth War Study Guide:

  • Empowers Christians to claim the certainties that God promises
  • Critical evaluation of postmodern trends
  • Teaches Christians how to identify and address the errors and false teachings smuggled into their churches
  • For small group discussion or individual study

5 out of 5 stars As Pilate asked, "What is truth?"   October 28, 2008
Detailed analysis of what truth is. It is not determined by each person's own concept of right and wrong, but the prerogative of the Author of Truth. A fascinating read that takes you from the beginning of creation to the present misconceptions and apostasies of some of the modern churches. It leaves you looking at everyday situations and news events in a whole new light. What IS the truth behind the situation, according to God's standard? As Ephesians 4:14 explains, we will no longer be tossed back and forth by waves, blown here or there by every wind of teaching by the cunning and craftiness of men.

1 out of 5 stars Very disappointing study guide   July 13, 2008
3 out of 4 found this review helpful

Very disappoint study guide to an otherwise very good book. As leader of a college and career group, I've done a number of books with study guide and I can't imagine a worse study guide.

The questions are very poor at stimulating meaningful discussion. The study guide seems like it geared for upper elementary/middle school group. The question are entire factual based on scripture reading that aren't related directly to the content of the book. Furthermore the "proof texts" given to help you answer the questions are very poorly references. Also it frequently seems like a group of question are getting at the same a idea with little difference.

Also The book is eight chapter and the study guide has only six which is a bit confusing. There is no direction given as how to coordinate the two.
